Integrated circuit protection
Because of the high integration of modern IC, and its voltage is lower and lower, so it is vulnerable to the impact of transient voltage damage, it is necessary to take protective measures. Usually, the input and output terminals of the CMOS circuit are provided with a protection network. In order to be reliable, various protection networks are added to the external interface of the whole machine. Figure 5 shows the circuit measures for the protection of CMOS devices with TVS diodes.

The integrated operational amplifier is very sensitive to the external stress, Figure 6 shows that the TVS is used to prevent overvoltage damage in the op amp differential input.
