Application of TVS diode in DC regulated power supply protection
Figure 3 is a DC voltage, the output with the TVS diode, the power supply can be used to protect the equipment, but also can absorb the collector of the transistor circuit to the emission peak voltage between the electrodes, thereby protecting the transistor. It is suggested that a TVS diode should be added to the output of each regulator, which can greatly improve the reliability of the whole machine.

Application of TVS diode in transistor circuit protection
All kinds of transient voltage will cause the transistor EB or CE junction breakdown and damage, when the collector of the transistor is sensitive (relay coil, transformer, motor load), usually have a high EMF, may damage the transistor. In practice, it is recommended to use TVS diode as protection device. Figure 4 shows an example of how the TVS diode is applied to a transistor circuit.
